Overdraft Protection
We know overdrafts can happen, and we want to make sure we can help you when they do. Our overdraft options - alone or combined - can help cover transactions when there isn't an available balance in your accounts.
After 30 days from account opening, all eligible checking accounts come with Courtesy Pay, but you do have other choices. The table below describes all the options you can use to protect your account from overdrafts.

*You must be enrolled in Online Banking and already have a savings account, money market account and/or line of credit. Once logged in, click on the 'gear wheel' to the left of your checking account, select Overdraft Protection from the menu and select which accounts you want to use for overdraft. If you'd like to open a new savings account, money market account or line of credit click on Application Center within Online Banking, then follow the steps in the previous sentence.

UNCLE CU uses the available balance at the time a card transaction, check, and/or ACH transaction is presented to determine whether the transaction will be paid and if a Business Courtesy Pay fee will be assessed. UNCLE Credit Union is not under any obligation to pay overdrafts, except business debit card transactions that are authorized for payment. UNCLE CU’s Business Courtesy Pay is a discretionary service automatically available to members who maintain their business checking account in good standing, providing overdraft coverage to prevent items/transactions from being returned or declined.
Business checking accounts protected by Business Courtesy Pay have an overdraft limit that determines the maximum amount of overdraft protection available. While there is no fee to have this service, you will be charged a Business Courtesy Pay fee in accordance with our Fee Schedule when UNCLE CU pays an overdraft item for you. You have the option to “opt-out” of Business Courtesy Pay at any time if you do not want UNCLE CU to pay overdraft items when your account balance has insufficient funds to cover items presented for payment. To opt-out of Business Courtesy Pay, you may do so in person at one of our financial center locations, or by calling 925-447-5001.
